5,000 people and four days... this was one of my favorite, most challenging jobs. I worked with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's International Center for Leadership and Education to cover their Model Schools conference, which honors teachers and schools who are pioneering rigorous, relevant education in America. It was a week full of adventures; hearing Temple Grandin speak, meeting poets and educators, taking corporate head shots for people like Sylvia Acevedo and mostly, telling great stories about the way HMH provides for educators. It was an honor to tell their story through both strong hero images and gentle transitional moments that would have otherwise passed unnoticed. It's my joy to seek out the greater story; and theirs is a genuine understanding of what teachers need to feel supported.
Enjoy my top selects.
